Benji is 14 years old and has been with us for five years. Despite his age, he’s still full of energy! In the past, Benji bit his fosterers quite seriously, which has made it difficult to find him a suitable home. He can be friendly and affectionate from the get-go, which sometimes causes people to let their guard down. For safety, it’s best to keep petting sessions short and to do regular consent tests. He’s also sensitive during baths and nail trims, and reacts poorly to raised voices or dramatic gestures. Benji barks a lot when left alone or confined behind a gate, so he needs a home with someone around most of the time. While he gets along with other dogs, he would love to be the only dog and the center of attention. He’s both pee-pad and grass-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and his favourite time of the day is walk time! Benji is on long-term liver and joint supplements.
