Mah Mah has lived her whole life at our Jurong Island shelter, after being trapped and neutered as a stray many years ago. She has always been one of our special girls—quiet, gentle, and with a heart full of sunshine.
Recently, Mah Mah was diagnosed with megaesophagus and Cushing’s disease. These conditions make life more challenging; on bad days, she struggles to keep her food down. Yet true to her spirit, Mah Mah takes it all in her stride. She still greets each day with bright eyes, a happy tail, and an endless enthusiasm for life.
With love and patience, Mah Mah has adapted to her new feeding routine. She now sits calmly in her Bailey chair for up to 40 minutes at a time so her food can go down safely—something we never imagined she would tolerate. Her resilience and trust amaze us every single day.
Caring for a dog like Mah Mah is not easy, but it is worth every moment. She teaches us what it means to embrace life with grace and joy, no matter the obstacles.
