Once upon a time at our Jurong Island shelter, Gong Gong was known as the barkiest boy of them all. A stray who came under our TNRM programme, he filled the shelter with his voice and presence.
But one day, everything changed when we found Gong Gong unable to stand. Paralysed from the waist down, his world could have grown small and quiet. Instead, he has shown us what true resilience looks like.
Now under home care, Gong Gong has adapted beautifully to his new life. It’s as if he has always known what it means to live in a home. No more endless barking, just a calm, curious soul who enjoys wagon walks, watching the world go by, and the simple comfort of good meals.
Though he is 95% immobile and can only flip himself side to side or crawl a few steps, Gong Gong lives with quiet acceptance. He naps peacefully when left alone, perks up at mealtime, and even shows his cheeky side. Getting a little grouchy when his foster brother comes too close. But who could blame him?
Gong Gong reminds us that joy is still possible, even when life takes unexpected turns. He is an old soul, easily contented, and so deserving of love and care.
You can help Gong Gong live the rest of his days in comfort.
By sponsoring him, you’ll be supporting his daily needs, medical care, and the little things that make his life brighter.
Be part of Gong Gong’s journey, sponsor him today, and stand by this gentle boy as he continues to live with quiet courage.
